The Rocky Mountains of Montana have always been home to me. I seek refuge in the tranquility of nature and am inspired daily by the beauty of my surroundings. I strive to reflect the passion I hold for my home and nature in my paintings. Through intense use of color, contrast and detail, my art allows you to bring a small slice of Big Sky Country into your home. I rework my paintings to the point where they take my breath away upon first glance. As I hope they will yours.
I am a self-taught acrylic artist. A perfectionist by nature, I have learned this art through consistent practice, perseverance, a multitude of four letter words, and an occasional destroyed canvas. I take pride in the level of detail my paintings possess, as this adds value and a unique quality.
Aside from life as an artist, I am a mother, wife, outdoor enthusiast, horsewoman and weekend barista. When I am not chasing sunsets or jerking my car to a stop to photograph horses running in a field, I am either wrangling my children, loving on my 120 pound canine companion, or attempting to escape for five minutes peace with my husband. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
In a day where touch screens command your constant attention and video games rule our youth, my paintings ask the viewer to stop for a moment and consider an alternative. There is so much beauty in the world to be experienced. So get out there. Chase a sunset. Wade into the waters of a glacial lake and soak in the simplicity. See it. Touch it. Live it.
